Seeing a neurologist or neurosurgeon? Check your appointment details before you leave home!
Starting 5 January 2026, patients visiting the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) need to pay extra attention to their appointment location. With two buildings in Singapore now bearing the NNI name, it's crucial to confirm where your appointment is scheduled to avoid any confusion or delays.
What's Changed at Singapore General Hospital
From 5 January 2026, the Neuroscience Clinic at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) is operating from a new location: Level 10 of the SGH Emergency / NNI building at 1 Hospital Boulevard, Singapore 168581. Previously, the Neuroscience Clinic was located at Clinic L, Block 3, SGH.
NNI manages patients with brain, spine, nerve and muscle conditions, including stroke, dementia, Parkinson's disease and brain tumours. These conditions often affect patients' mobility and thinking abilities.
This move to a larger facility in the new SGH Emergency / NNI building allows NNI to provide more comprehensive onsite services, offering greater convenience to patients. The enhanced clinic can now accommodate blood tests, intravenous infusions, lumbar punctures and other procedures within the same facility, reducing the need for patients to move around and find other locations for these services.
Two NNI Buildings: Check Your Appointment Details
There are now two buildings in Singapore with the National Neuroscience Institute name:
To avoid confusion, new patients and caregivers are strongly advised to check their appointment reminder messages or their appointment details on HealthHub before leaving home. This simple step will ensure that you arrive at the correct location for your appointment.
Getting to SGH Emergency / NNI Building
The SGH Emergency / NNI building is approximately a 15-minute walk from Outram Park MRT station. Patients and caregivers are encouraged to take the blue SGH shuttle bus from Outram Park MRT station Exits 6 and 7 for easier access, as many neuroscience patients may have mobility challenges.
