Orthopaedic Video Consult

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is offering a consultation service via a secure video conferencing platform accessible on mobile phone, tablet or computer. Through this secured video call, advice will be given to patients on the appropriate management of their medical condition. This way, patients are not required to travel to the clinic for their appointment.

Following the session, follow-up appointments will be booked (if necessary), any prescribed medications will be sent via courier to the patient’s address, and outstanding bills for the consultation can be settled via our convenient e-payment options.

Benefits:

  1. Improve access to care in the comfort of your own homes.
  2. Save your time and money from traveling and waiting at the clinic.
  3. Ensure that you receive timely review of your medical condition even when there may be operational restrictions or limitations that affect the provision of face-to-face consultation for example during times of infectious disease outbreak.

  2. Your doctor will then proceed with the consultation.

What preparations must I make before the video-consultation?

  • Inform your doctor of any allergies and changes to your medical condition or medications since your last consultation.
  • Download Zoom prior to the consultation. An eAppointment link will be send to you via email to connect to the video call. Please ensure the safe-keeping of the link, and to prevent any unauthorized access.
  • Ensure that you are in a private place that is well-lit and quiet with no other persons present except for authorized caregivers (if required).
  • Enter the session by clicking on the link 10 minutes before your scheduled time and wait for your doctor. If you are late, you may miss your consultation and will be called for a reschedule. Only the patient should be the one initiating the call.
