Beyond the Lab (Translational Efforts and Clinical Applications)
12 April 2024, 1315 - 1445, L1-S3

Presenting Title:

Translating Genetic Discoveries in Neurodegenerative Diseases

The relative contribution of genes and environmental factors in complex neurodegenerative disorders has been debated.

Recent genetic discoveries have facilitated the diagnosis and classification of various neurological disorders with overlapping phenotypes.

A summary of some of the genetic discoveries in neurodegenerative disorders and how these have led to a better understanding of the pathophysiology, improvement in genetic testing programmes and development of novel therapeutics will be provided. In addition, there will be highlights of the challenges and promises of the various therapeutic approaches.
