Session:

Forging a WIN-WIN strategy - The Synergies Between Global Health Initiatives and our AMC
13 April 2024, 0830 - 0915hrs

The collaboration between global health initiatives and academic medical centers (AMCs) offers a mutually beneficial strategy, leveraging the strengths of each to tackle global health disparities. AMCs provide cutting-edge research and education expertise, enhancing the effectiveness and sustainability of health solutions globally. In turn, these initiatives offer AMCs real-world application opportunities for their research and enrich educational experiences with practical global health challenges. This partnership fosters innovation and nurtures globally aware healthcare professionals. It also enables AMCs to learn from innovative solutions deployed in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), which often pioneer cost-effective, scalable health interventions adaptable to diverse settings. The talk will provide real world examples that underscores unique benefits of learning from LMICs’ ingenuity and resilience. Emphasizing equitable and synergistic partnerships, this strategy calls for collective action towards a healthier, more equitable world.
