In parallel with campus development, SGH research has evolved from a system of block or thematic grants to a system of Core provision of resources and research Themes led by ACPs. The Core Facilities have developed and matured and the ACPs have grown in number from 2 to 6, each having a Research Committee, rotating chair and membership from all relevant constituencies. Overall this system is manageable, provides access to scientific techniques for all projects and regulatory support and accountability. The system ties together a large and complex campus drawing ever more clinical areas in to research productivity.
