​Dr Shim Hang Hock is a graduate of University of Southampton School of Medicine. He was trained and has since been practicing in Singapore General Hospital. During which, Dr Shim completed his postgraduate medical degree in internal medicine [MRCP (UK) and M.Med] and gastroenterology subspecialty training. Dr Shim subsequently advanced his training in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) by completing a year of fellowship at University of Calgary, Canada, one of the largest IBD units in the world. His practice specialises in the care of patients with gastrointestinal and hepatology disorders, in particular, patients with complex inflammatory bowel disease refractory to conventional treatment, and special population including pregnancy in IBD.

Dr Shim is currently a consultant in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Singapore General Hospital.
