Prof Charles Ng

Since 1965 after my return from my medical education in Cambridge, UK, I have devoted my professional life to public service. My professional training as a medical specialist in O&G has been done at KKH, SGH and St Mary’s Hospital in London. I have served in SGH after leaving NUS in 1986 to start the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the invitation of MOH. Apart from professional services in O&G, I have also discharged my administration duties as Head of Department, Chairman of Division of Surgery, Chairman of Medical Board and Associate Dean.

Professionally I have been elected President of O&G Society of Singapore, Chairman of O&G, Academy of Medicine and Chairman of Singapore Representative Committee of Royal College of O&G.

I have returned to clinical practice since 2002 in SGH. Apart from clinical service, I have been a teacher for medical students and postgraduate doctors and been involved in research projects especially when I was in NUS.

Currently I provide gynaecology service (part-time) at SGH and as Advisor to the Department of O&G.
