How can I switch to subsidised medical care?

Singapore citizens and permanent residents can switch to subsidised healthcare services provided through government healthcare facilities. There are various healthcare schemes & subsidies to allow the individuals to access to the different levels of healthcare in a timely, cost-effective and seamless manner. More details can be found at Ministry of Health's Healthcare Schemes & Subsidies website

If you are an existing SGH patient and requires financial assistance after drawing on other means of payments including MediShield Life and Medisave, please consult our Medical Social Worker (MSW) through the following channels:

    1. Approach your attending doctor during your consultation visit OR

    2. Make an appointment through our SGH Appointment Hotline at 6321 4377

If you are not an existing SGH patient and wish to seek subsidised medical care, you will require

    1. A referral from a Polyclinic/GP CHAS clinic OR

    2. A referral by a hospital where you are a subsidised patient OR

    3. Do not require to see a specified named specialist
