Robot-assisted walking therapy is an adjunct in Physiotherapy that can help patient to relearn walking. It is administered via the Lokomat™ which is a body weight supported robotic treadmill training system with a virtual reality environment that provides constant audio and visual feedback. It comprises of harnesses for safety and robotic orthoses attached to the legs to enable highly effective and repetitive physiologic gait training. The Lokomat™ is suitable for patients with stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, neurological or orthopaedic conditions. Patients will be screened and referred by Rehabilitation Medicine Physician for rehabilitation with Lokomat™.
