Cancer Rehabilitation

The department provides cancer rehabilitation that is tailored to individual patient's rehabilitation needs in both inpatient and outpatient setting. In the inpatient setting, cardiopulmonary care is very important especially to patient with history or present respiratory condition. Exercises and mobilisation are also crucial for patients with prolong bed rest and treatment induced fatigue syndrome.

There are 4 categories of cancer rehabilitation: Preventive, Restorative, Supportive and Palliative by Dietz JH. With that in mind, we will categorize the patients into the respective group and design a rehabilitation program according to their needs.

We believe all patients are unique and therefore it is important to have individualised program to mark their progression and improvement. The aim of the oncology rehabilitation is to improve the patient's quality of life, restore, optimise and maintain patient's functional ability throughout the progression of the condition.
