Interventional Radiology is a branch of medicine specialising in the use of advanced imaging modalities (digital subtraction angiography, Ultrasound, fluoroscopy and CT) to guide the performance of minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in different parts of the body. The treatments offer less risk, less pain and less recovery time. It has been termed as “Surgery of the new millennium”.

Clinical Services

  • Vascular: Angiography, Angioplasty ( balloon and stent), Aortic aneurysmal repair (stent grafts), AV fistula intervention including angioplasty, thrombolysis, and embolization, Vascular malformation embolization, Central Venous Access Devices, IVC Filters, thrombolysis of deep venous thrombosis, ablation of varicose veins, trauma embolisation
  • Liver Interventions: Biliary drainage and stenting, biliary stone removal, percutaneous cholecystostomy, TIPS
  • Renal interventions: Nephrostomies, ureteric stent insertion, ureteric embolisation 
  • GI interventions: Gastrostomy tube insertion, duodenal and colonic stenting
  • Genito-urinary interventions: Uterine fibroid embolization, varicocele embolization,  hysterosalpingography and fallopian tube recanalization, prostrate artery embolization
  • Oncological interventions: Tumor ablation in the liver lung kidney and bone using Radio-frequency, Microwave and Cryoablation, Trans-arterial chemoembolization, Radioembolisation (Y90)
  • Biopsies and drainages
