Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a common chronic condition that is associated with progressive airflow limitation in the lungs. In Singapore, it is likely that more than 60,000 people suffer from COPD and it is the 7th leading cause of death.

The COPD Clinic follows a multidisciplinary care model. It also offers comprehensive diagnostic testing (e.g., full lung function, CT scanning, fitness-to-fly testing, cardiopulmonary exercise testing) and holistic management that entails education, smoking cessation, pulmonary rehabilitation, medications and lung transplant. We are also actively involved in COPD research involving collaboration with researchers to study disease mechanisms and novel therapies for COPD.

More recently, we possess the expertise to perform bronchoscopic lung volume reduction using endobronchial valves for suitable COPD patients. Our COPD experts work closely with our Interventional Pulmonology team to carefully select patients who may benefit from this procedure.
