1 in 10 people suffers from Rheumatological diseases in Singapore. There are more than 30 different chronic and complex Rheumatological diseases that can affect major organs like the joints, heart, lungs, kidneys and skin, causing serious complications which can be life-threatening. Currently, there is no cure. Despite scientific breakthroughs in the past decades, little is known about the exact causes of Rheumatological diseases. Diagnosis is difficult and as a result, often delayed. Treatment options are limited and in some cases, there are none - symptoms can only be managed. Your gift towards the Reverie Rheumatology Research Fund (RRRF) Endowed Fund enable progress in 5 key areas namely the Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Spondyloarthritis and Systemic Sclerosis: 1. Expedite research into predicting diseases flares and progress; 2. Develop and test new effective treatments; 3. Nurture and sustain a core of trained and committed research team; 4. Fund novel pilot research projects which, if successful, would provide the basis to apply for larger research grant funds to continue this research.
The SGH Department of Haematology has been at the forefront of diagnosing and treating blood disorders in Singapore since its inception in 1985. Every day, six individuals in Singapore receive a devastating diagnosis of a serious blood disorder such as leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Hereditary conditions like thalassemia and hemophilia as well as clotting and platelet disorders are equally burdensome to patients and their families. While providing quality care to our patients for the past 40 years, our passionate team of haematologists and allied health professionals also set aside time to improve our understanding of blood disorders and find new treatment through research and innovations. We are constantly educating ourselves and the future generation of care providers as well as patients and their families. Our goal is to strive for a better outcome for our patients and help them rewrite their stories. As we mark this significant milestone in 2025, we invite you to join us in our cause. 100% of your gift will go towards supporting research into cutting-edge treatment and understanding of blood disorders, training the next generation of blood specialists and pioneering advancements that will shape the future of haematology. No amount is too small. Your donation will help to fuel breakthroughs that can make a difference to people with blood disorders and define tomorrow’s medicine.

Innovation, research, and education are paramount to improving patient care and outcomes. To truly drive this transformation, we must invest in the next generation of doctors — individuals with immense potential to lead meaningful change, yet who often lack the support and resources to realise their ideas. Your generous gifts towards the Ong Yong Yau Future of Medicine Fund will empower young clinicians to become leaders in their fields, equipped to revolutionise patient care and shape the future of medicine. Our initiative focuses on two key areas: - Seed Funding for Innovative Research & Education Projects Support pilot research and education projects that focus on areas like innovative care models, AI technologies, and evidence-based care that can make a tangible impact on patient outcomes and the overall patient experience. - Nurturing a strong team for our Future in Medicine Develop specialised programmes, leadership training, and mentorship to empower and equip our young doctors with the essential skills and tools to stay abreast of modern technologies that will drive innovations and improve patient care.
Your generous donations can help find solutions to cure allergies, infections, and age-related chronic illnesses such as diabetes, chronic kidney diseases, thyroid disorders etc. Your donation will also help to nurture future healthcare workers and support healthcare innovations that will provide for the ever-evolving healthcare needs of the Singapore population.
Pathology underpins every facet of disease diagnosis and treatment and plays a crucial role in patient care. Every individual who has consulted a medical doctor would have come into contact with pathology services, through blood, fluid or tissue samples analysed by a pathologist. As our invisible doctors, pathologists play a vital role in providing accurate and reliable diagnoses so that our patients can receive appropriate and timely care. Our doctors do not work in silos and are ably supported by our teams, who work tirelessly to ensure all samples are analysed accurately. Since our humble beginnings as a bacteriologist-led laboratory back in 1903, SingHealth Pathology has evolved into multidisciplinary pathology specialties with Signature Research Programmes (in breast cancer and fibroepithelial lesions, microbiological investigations in disease outbreaks and infections, prognostication of chronic liver disease, and childhood cancer) that have led to significant healthcare breakthroughs. We believe more can be done. Every dollar of your generous gift will aid our relentless endeavours to fight diseases, find the right diagnosis and pave the way to discover better cures for improved patient care outcomes.
Your support will go a long way to enable clinician scientists and researchers discover new treatments, train the next generation of surgeons and advance research leading to better surgical outcomes.
Will you help improve the survival rates of our patients? Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men in Singapore. 40% of men over 60 years old suffer from benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). At SGH Urology, we serve many patients every day and witness first-hand the pain and struggles of our patients and their families. Often, underdiagnosed and undertreated due to stigma and delayed medical attention, more than 300,000 people in Singapore will likely experience urinary stones in their lifetime. Sadly, this number will only rise with our ageing population. Today, the most common urological conditions affecting men and women include urinary tract infections, kidney stones, incontinence, overactive bladder, BPH, and urologic cancers like prostate, bladder, and kidney cancers. Many patients do not experience symptoms especially in early stages and medical care is delayed. There is a strong urgency to improve survival rates, reduce complications and minimize side effects for our patients with urological conditions. 100% of your gift will go towards research, innovation and education focuses that can better diagnosis and treatment strategies, refine existing and developing new treatments surgical techniques, and therapies for conditions like prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney stones, urinary incontinence and more.

Every year, 100 children in Singapore are born with congenital malformations and newborn diseases, where natural body organs fail to develop properly at birth. Despite surgical attempts to reconstruct or substitute various defects, many succumb to respiratory, intestinal or kidney failure, or are left with life-long disabilities. Your generous support will increase the survival of children with these disorders from birth (after 40 weeks’ of pregnancy) to adulthood (40 years), and decrease the burden of long-term disability through research and education in the following areas: 1. Predictive testing methods to identify patients at highest risk of deterioration and disability. 2. Technologies to improve the quality of surgical correction of congenital malformations and newborn diseases. 3. Supportive care systems to alleviate the burden of disability in incurable disorders. About 300 children with various congenital disorders will benefit each year. Our education initiatives will share knowledge and new discoveries with medical professionals, parents and families locally and regionally too. 100% of your gift towards this key initiative under SingHealth Surgery Academic Clinical Programme resides in SGH Health Development Fund. Your support will help save more children, such as Ally*, who was born with a rare condition called cloacal exstrophy. Ally had more than 10 reconstructive surgeries since she was a baby. In primary school now, she enjoys singing and aspires to be a surgeon – just like those who helped made her life better. Your generosity gives hope to parents and families, and enables our children to dream a little dream. Another beneficiary is baby Lyn, who was born with esophageal atresia – a condition where her throat was not connected to her stomach. Lyn is growing up 'normally' today after four major operations and multiple minor procedures. Will you lend help and give hope to children like Ally and Lyn? *not their real names
