Overview

This 2.5-day workshop brings together healthcare professionals with a shared interest in pleural medicine for a clinically focused and interactive learning experience. Through expert-led lectures, case-based discussions, and hands-on training in thoracic ultrasound and pleural procedures, participants will gain practical knowledge and skills that can be applied in everyday clinical practice.

Supported by a multidisciplinary faculty from Respiratory Medicine, Radiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Oncology, the workshop aims to enhance participants' confidence in thoracic ultrasound, pleural procedures and the evidence-based management of pleural disease.

Learning Objective

Participants will learn to:

Apply evidence-based approaches to the diagnosis and management of pleural disease.

Understand the latest developments in pleural medicine.

Gain hands-on experience in thoracic ultrasound and pleural procedures, including thoracoscopy, indwelling pleural catheter insertion and image-guided pleural biopsy.

Perform focused thoracic ultrasound examinations and interpret findings within the clinical context.
