Drawing from the results of National Nutrition Survey 2018, the key findings showed Singaporeans’ diet quality has improved. Singaporeans are choosing to consume more wholegrains, fruits and vegetables and are substituting saturated fat with unsaturated fat. However, high sugar and salt consumption remains a cause for concern. In addition, one-third of Singaporeans eat out more than seven times a week, with 80% of Singaporeans eating out at hawker centres more than once a week.
