Transplantation restores organ function, and gives our patients a new lease of life. During the post-transplant period, transplant recipients are often prescribed drugs (immunosuppressants) to maintain graft function. These drugs which affect their immune system, are also associated with infectious complications. It is therefore not surprising that transplant recipients are more often susceptible to infections than others.
So come join us as Dr. Jasmine Chung shares the common types of infections that occurs during post-transplant, how they develop, and their common prevention measures.
