Every patient I see holds a special place in my heart. As I deliver therapy throughout their hospital stay, working methodically to improve their function, I grow to understand their personality, their family and their struggles. As we make small steps towards recovery, I witness their joys and their pains.

The ability to speak is often taken for granted. I feel very privileged to be able to work with patients on improving their abilities to communicate. In many ways, I become their confidante, as speech therapists are usually the ones with the skills to gently draw out their innermost thoughts by working on communication.
