Training Objectives/Goals
To achieve expertise in the field of Pain Medicine leading to a qualified expert Pain Medicine Consultant through:
- Competence in patient care
- Competence in medical knowledge
- Competence in practice based learning and improvement
- Competence in interpersonal and communication skills
- Competence in professionalism
- Competence in systems based practice
Entrustable professional activities after training:
- Diagnose complex painful conditions and practise a multi-modal approach to managing them
- Develop comprehensive collaborative care plans within a multidisciplinary team to manage painful conditions
- Perform specialised interventional pain management procedures using ultrasound or fluoroscopy
- Demonstrate competence in the safe prescription of opioids, including patient selection, consent taking, assessments and management of aberrancy, and understand role of pain specialist in a multidisciplinary team.
- Co-ordinate care with community health care teams in the continuum of chronic pain management.
- The cand idate will be able to practice independently (i.e. level 4 supervision)

Admission Criteria
- Possess valid practicing license with the Singapore Medical Council
- Registered under the Register of Specialists with Specialist Accreditation Board in Anaesthesiology
