Training Objectives/Goals

  • Learn about and participate in a multidisciplinary approach to management of chronic liver diseases including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)
  • Learn about and participate in multidisciplinary team discussion on management of HCC
  • Opportunity to work on HCC-related or liver disease-related abstracts and manuscripts.
  • Exposure to liver transplantation and its multidisciplinary practice and learn about liver transplantation and HCC
  • Learn about and participate in multidisciplinary team management of advanced liver diseases and cirrhosis in the outpatient
  • Participate in weekly subspecialized liver outpatient clinics – fatty liver, alcohol-related liver disease, drug-induced liver injury (DILI), viral hepatitis, immunosuppressed patients
  • Learn about how a HVPG study is done and how to interpret HVPG measurements.

2 (1 for January-June and 1 for July-December)

Admission Criteria

  • Possess valid practicing license with the Singapore Medical Council
  • Registered under the Register of Specialists with Specialist Accreditation Board (SAB) in Gastroenterology
  • Active participation in ward and outpatient work.
  • Participation in journal club and case/topic presentations as part of learning and training
  • Participation in teaching of undergraduates, residents and senior residents
  • Valid BCLS and ACLS certification throughout whole period of attachment.
