Training Objectives/Goals

The purpose is to provide supervised hands-on training in the performance, interpretation and reporting of various clinical abdominopelvic radiological examinations so that the Fellow is proficient in independent reporting upon completion of training.

Learning Goals: 

To accurately identify and interpret abdominopelvic imaging pathology; diagnostic acumen to be enhanced via radiology-pathological correlation projects and short focussed attachments to relevant clinical departments. High clinical caseload of difficult cases of a wide variety   accelerate learning.  Focussed supervised training in reporting of a threshold number of specific examinations e.g. prostate / liver MRI equips the fellow for independent reporting upon Fellowship completion.

To learn about optimised multimodality imaging protocols to improve diagnostic efficacy

To learn workflow and processes that improve complex disease workup and management

To present and participate in multi-disciplinary meetings of various clinical specialties so as to be up to date with state-of-the-art disease management.

Develop hands-on skills and experience to perform contrast-enhanced abdominal ultrasound

At the National level, the Fellowship imparts skills to Fellows to take back to their institution for state-of-the-art clinical practice in abdominopelvic radiology.

Admission Criteria

  • Possess valid practicing license with the Singapore Medical Council

  • Satisfactory completion of a radiology residency programme (or equivalent)

  • Registered under the Register of Specialists with Specialists Accreditation Board (SAB) in Diagnostic Radiology

  • Letter of recommendation from applicant's HOD

  • Formal interview with hosting Department Faculty
