CPD Lecture Introduction to Medical Music Therapy

Medical music therapy is a non-pharmaceutical, evidence-based approach administered by a qualified music therapist that can enhance patient care in the acute hospital setting. This lecture will explore its applications in rehabilitation, palliative care, and critical care to address key patient goals, such as symptom management, rehabilitation, and psycho-emotional wellbeing. The session will offer allied health professionals an understanding of how music therapy can contribute to a collaborative approach to care.
 
At the end of this lecture, participants will gain an understanding on:

  • How music therapy supports a collaborative approach to care
