Cancer survivors experience multifaceted functional challenges and disruptions in their daily activities and life roles during their course of cancer treatment. Person-centred care and collaborative goal setting are integral aspects highlighted in guidelines, though a significant gap still exists between suggested practice and patient experiences.

This session will explore on how we can create goal setting conversations to reconcile the medical complexity of cancer care with the personal nature of each patient’s survivorship journey.

At the end of this lecture, participants will gain an understanding on:

Applying person centeredness and collaborative goal setting
How goal priorities evolve from inpatient to outpatient settings and throughout the cancer journey
Practical goal setting strategies
