Chronic lung diseases — including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease (ILD), asthma and bronchiectasis—present with varying obstructive or restrictive patterns on spirometry and often lead to secondary muscle dysfunction and psychosocial challenges. This course aims to equip physiotherapists with the knowledge and clinical reasoning needed to assess and manage the complex cardiopulmonary issues faced by these patients, across the continuum of care—from stable disease to acute exacerbations and chronic respiratory failure, while empowering them to promote effective long‑term self‑management. Through case studies and multidisciplinary perspectives, attendees will gain evidence‑based and clinically applicable skills to enhance patient outcomes in both inpatient and community settings.
