Synonym(s):

11 December 2024

Pharmacy Technicians (PTs) are the pillar of the pharmacy workforce. A large part of their role involves supporting medication dispensing and counselling. In some places, PTs also assist in medication reconciliation. Drug information (DI) is an essential skill that allow PTs to carry out their role competently and confidently.

This workshop aims to empower PTs to be able to identify and use appropriate established resources (Lexi-Comp, Lexi-Interact, Health Sciences Authority [HSA] Therapeutic Product Search etc.) and evaluate information to guide medication reconciliation, counselling and management of patient's enquiries.

This course aims to help participants to:

1) List evidence-based drug information resources

2) Identify appropriate resource(s) to search for relevant information

3) Interpret and apply information obtained to aid medication reconciliation, patient counselling, and answer drug enquiries
