The Neuropsychology of Neurological Conditions

This course will explore the basic concepts of neuropsychology as well as the nature and features of Parkinson disease, epilepsy and head trauma. The course will explore the cognitive domains and dimensions of behaviour and function that are impacted by these disorders. In this course, the disorders will be related to the neurological disorders in terms of evaluation and assessment. The different dimensions assessed include the physical, the functional, the emotional, the behavioural and the cognitive aspects. An understanding of these conditions will enable healthcare workers to understand these disorders more comprehensively and, thus, apply more appropriate treatment strategies.
