This course provides a foundation to common bladder, bowel conditions and pelvic floor rehabilitation. Participants will study the anatomy and physiology of the lower urinary tract, the bowel and pelvic floor muscles, as well as exploring the role of these structures in continence control. The course also covers common types of urinary incontinence, bladder and bowel conditions, pelvic organ prolapses and their pathophysiology. Additionally, participants will examine the interplay between bowel and urinary systems. The course emphasizes assessment techniques and exercise prescription principles to manage incontinence effectively in both men and women.

Caroline Chua Shiling

Ms. Caroline Chua is a Senior Principal Physiotherapist at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where she has devoted more than two decades to advancing women’s health. Holding master’s degrees in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy and Health Professions Education, she integrates clinical expertise with educational insight to enrich both patient care and professional training. To further her specialization in sexual health, Caroline has also trained with the European Society for Sexual Medicine.Beyond her clinical work, Caroline is a passionate educator committed to sharing knowledge with students and healthcare professionals. She serves as Associate Faculty in Gender Health and Professionalism, Ethics, and Global Health at SIT, and regularly lectures at NYP and JCU, teaching advanced diploma students in midwifery and postgraduate students in clinical psychology. She believes that embedding evidence-based practices into education and clinical care strengthens outcomes for patients experiencing incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction, and pelvic and sexual pain across all stages of life.

June Eng, Principal Physiotherapist, KKH. She has more than 10 years experience in women’s health physiotherapy and a Masters in Clinical Physiotherapy (Continence and Pelvic Health major) from Curtin University (Australia). She is passionate about women’s health issues and hopes to empower women with skills to manage their health through different life stages.

Jenna Kee Wee Yun
Senior Physiotherapist

Jenna is a senior physiotherapist at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital with more than a decade of clinical experience in women’s health and pelvic floor physiotherapy. She holds a Master of Clinical Physiotherapy in Continence and Women’s Health from Curtin University. Jenna specializes in treating women with various pelvic floor disorders and oversees a multi-disciplinary clinic with Urogynecology specialists, providing care to women with obstetrical anal sphincter injuries. She is a clinical educator at the Singapore Institute of Technology, sharing her expertise with undergraduate students in the field of pelvic health.

Wendy Loh Wen Qi

Wendy has seven years of working experience in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and four years of clinical experience in Women’s Health physiotherapy. Over the past years, she has taken on leadership and educational roles, including mentoring new staff and students as well as just recently, contributing to the KKH Educators Group and overseeing the Therapy Assistants as the second in-charge

Stella Hong Yanchai

Stella has been in SGH for more than 15 years. Since 2014, she has been seeing pelvic health conditions in both inpatient and outpatient setting. Stella has conducted numerous antenatal classes, as well as given public forum talks. She has attended various pelvic health workshops to upskill her knowledge in both female and male conditions. She also provides inservices to ward nurses and rotating junior doctors regarding postpartum bladder care and is currently involved in coaching juniors in this sector. She hopes to inspire more juniors to be pelvic health physiotherapists.
