Empowerment Through Oncology Rehabilitation: Caring for Cancer Survivors

Synonym(s):

12 & 13 February 2026

Cancer survivors may face functional challenges due to physical and psychosocial impairments that arise from cancer and its treatment. Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists can play a vital role in supporting these individuals across the continuum of cancer care— from diagnosis through survivorship.

This course aims to deepen participants’ understanding of cancer pathophysiology, treatment complexities, and their implications for functional performance and participation.

Through a combination of theoretical learning and case-based application, participants will develop advanced clinical reasoning skills to assess, plan, and implement individualized interventions that promote functional independence, quality of life, and self-management for people affected by cancer.

The course also highlights the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and holistic, person-centered care. Participants will engage in interactive discussions that will foster confidence in managing complex oncology cases within diverse healthcare settings.
