Objective

The attachment programme will provide participants with an overview of the professional practice of dietetics in a large, acute tertiary hospital in Singapore.

Upon completion of the attachment, participants will:

  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the dietitians’ roles and responsibilities in the provision of medical nutrition therapy to inpatients and outpatients in the various specialties.

  • Overview of the function of the Dietetics Department
  • Types of inpatient and outpatient services
  • Inpatient Services: Clinical attachment to various specialties (observation only) – Renal, Cardiology, Diabetes, Burns, Neurology, Weight Management, Eating Disorders, Parenteral Nutrition Support
  • Outpatient Services: Diabetes Clinic, Cardiac Clinic, Renal Clinic, Nutrition Support Clinic, Weight Management Clinic, Digestive and Liver Diseases Clinic, Transplant Clinic
  • Nutrition Group Education Programmes 
  • Clinical Nutrition Practice Guidelines in SGH
  • Education, Training and professional Development
  • Nutrition Research
  • Clinical Outcome Indicators

Attachment Fees

1. Training Fee (5-day work week) depending on the nature of attachment

  • At least SGD $654.00* per applicant per week

2. Administrative Fee Upon Acceptance (non-refundable)

  • Singaporeans: SGD $163.50*
  • Non-Singaporeans & Overseas Applicants: SGD $261.60*

3. Miscellaneous Fees for Overseas Applicants (Non-Singaporeans) [non-refundable]

a. Training Employment Pass (TEP)

  • One time application fee: SGD $105
  • Issuance Fee: SGD $225

b. Multiple Journey visa (if applicable): SGD $30

*Inclusive of 9% GST
