CA in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Basic Level

Application Timeline

For overseas applicants:

A full set of required documents to be submitted at least 3 - 4 months before the attachment start date.

For local applicants:

A full set of required documents to be submitted at least 2 - 3 months before the attachment start date.

2 - 4 weeks

Criteria

Only for organisation sponsored practising / registered Radiographers using MRI (Beginners may also apply)

Note: Each request is subject to Department's review and approval

Objectives

To provide participants with the specialised knowledge on core competency skills in performing high quality MRI scans.

Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the essentials to produce high quality diagnostic MRI scans
  • Recognise commonly encountered pathologies in MRI scans
  • Recognise image artefacts that may affect radiological diagnosis
  • Understand the basic physics involved in MRI
  • Understand the basic protocols for the various clinical indications
  • Appreciate the importance of patient communication skills
  • Describe MRI safety procedures and precautions
  • Observe non-imaging procedures relating to MRI, e.g. Contrast agent preparation, venepuncture, recognise vital signs and CPR in the MRI environment

Attachment Fees

1. Training Fee (5-day work week) depending on the nature of attachment

At least SGD $600* per applicant per week


2. Administrative Fee Upon Acceptance (non-refundable)

Singaporeans: SGD $150* 

Non-Singaporeans & Overseas Applicants: SGD $240* 


3. Miscellaneous Fees for Overseas Applicants (Non-Singaporeans) [non-refundable]

a. Training Employment Pass (TEP)

  • One time application fee: SGD $105
  • Issuance Fee: SGD $225

b. Multiple Journey visa (if applicable): SGD $30
