Bespoke Healthcare (Efforts to Tailor the Healthcare Journey for Patients)
12 April 2024, 1045 - 1215hrs, L1-S3

Presenting Title:

Clinical 3D Printing for Patient Care at the SGH 3D Printing Centre: Value Proposition, Applications, Outcomes

This talk introduces the SGH 3D Printing Centre which designs and produces from medical imaging, in-house and/or with partners, patient-specific anatomical models for surgical rehearsal and implant sizing, surgical guides for localisation and reconstruction, appliances i.e. orthotics and prosthetics, as well as non-resorbable and bioresorbable implants for current clinical care in at least six local healthcare institutes. The activities of the centre bring benefits to patients, in terms of improved treatment accuracy and safety, decreased operative time, the enablement of complex surgeries that require sophisticated pre-operative planning, as well as through customisable appliances and implants. The activities of the centre also contribute to the ecosystem of supply chain resiliency, and catalyse R&D efforts with its partners and collaborators in Singapore and internationally.
