Dr Diana Chan

Dr Diana Chan is presently a senior consultant in the Division of Anaesthesiology, SGH, Head of Department of Pain Medicine in SGH and just appointed Pain SDDC Head. She was instrumental in driving the establishment of the Pain SDDC which aims to bring together pain and pain-related specialties within the Singhealth cluster to work together to improve our pain patients' journey. She did her pain fellowship in 2016 in Perth, WA, in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, and also completed her Masters of Clinical Investigation concurrently. Upon returning, she was tasked to set up and lead the pain unit in SKH. Subsequently she was then appointed Head of Department of Pain Medicine in SGH. She also recently obtained her Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) qualifications. Her interests lie in the clinical and interventional pain advancements in management of chronic pain conditions and also has published pain and anaesthesia-related research papers in high impact international journals. She also is a believer of complementary medicine and holistic care to pain conditions, herself having obtained a Graduate Diploma of Acupuncture.

Discussion Topic:

Problem Based Learning – The Management of A Pain Patient in the Community: Perspectives from A Multi-disciplinary Panel from the Polyclinic to Tertiary Care: Collaboration with Chronic Pain Management Service

There will be problem-based learning discussion on handling of chronic pain patient from the polyclinic to the tertiary care centre. The moderators will be Drs Diana Chan and Dr Singh. The panelists will be Dr Koh KH (SHP), Dr Philip Cheong (SGH PT), Ms Constance Png (CGH, PSY).  A few cases will be discussed in this interactive session and questions will be taken live from the attendees.
