Empowering Patient Education: Inside SGH Studio

At SGH, we are committed to enhancing patient care and education through innovative communication strategies. The SGH Studio plays a crucial role in this mission by providing advanced multimedia resources designed to produce engaging patient education videos and other content. Our goal is to make complex medical information more accessible and understandable for patients and their families, empowering them to make informed decisions about their healthcare.

Recording Suite on SGH Campus

Located at SingHealth Tower Level 6 is our self-service recording studio for SGH staff and faculty use. This sound-proofed studio space is best-suited for screen capture, audio and video recordings. Additional tools, such as a green screen backdrop and camera kits are also available.

What kind of projects are right for SGH Studio?

SGH Studio is outfitted with recording equipment to meet various multimedia needs:

Rule and Regulations

  1. Booking and Scheduling: 
    • All studio sessions must be booked in advance through an official booking system. 
    • Users must specify the type of project (e.g., podcast, video recording, photoshoot) at the time of booking. 
    • Cancellations or rescheduling should be notified at least 24 hours in advance. 
  2. Usage Policy: 
    • The studio is exclusively for creating content related to healthcare, patient education, staff training, and hospital promotional activities. 
    • Personal use of the studio for non-hospital related activities is strictly prohibited. 
  3. Occupancy: 
    • The studio can host up to 8 persons at a time for a recording session. This rule must be strictly followed to ensure comfort and safety. 
  4. Equipment Handling: 
    • Users must have a basic understanding of the equipment or be accompanied by someone who does. 
    • Handling of cameras, mics, PCs, and other sensitive equipment should be done with care. Instructions or orientation sessions can be provided upon request. 
    • Studio equipment must not be removed from the studio premises under any circumstances. If specific equipment is needed outside the studio for hospital-related projects, special permission must be sought from SGH Communications department, and appropriate check-out/check-in procedure must be followed. 
  5. Safety and Cleanliness: 
    • Food and beverages are not allowed inside the studio to prevent spills and damage to equipment. 
    • Users are responsible for leaving the studio clean and tidy. This includes returning all equipment to its original place. 
  6. Content Approval: 
    • All content produced in the studio must adhere to the hospital’s privacy policies and ethical guidelines, especially concerning patient information. 
    • Content may be subject to review and approval by the communications department before publication or distribution. 
  7. Technical Support and Damages:
    • Technical support will be available during specified hours. Users encountering problems should report them immediately. 
    • Users will be held responsible for any damages caused due to negligence or improper use of equipment. 
  8. Training: 
    • Users are to attend a mandatory orientation session on studio rules, equipment handling, and safety measures. 
    • Specialised training sessions for advanced equipment use (like green screen technology) will be provided upon request. 
  9. Intellectual Property: 
    • All content produced in the studio remains the property of the hospital unless otherwise agreed upon. 
  10. Confidentiality and Privacy: 
    • Users must respect confidentiality and privacy obligations, ensuring that any patient information or sensitive hospital data is handled according to legal and ethical standards.
