Enabler Request

Clinical Translational Sciences is one of the research Enablers supporting wet-lab research in SGH.

Through this platform, DCR provides an opportunity for PIs to have their specific research queries answered. PIs will be matched with an experienced Research Scientist to help them develop, improve, and execute high-quality research by providing services in the following areas:

  • Experimental design and set-up

  • Protocol review

  • Budgeting (wet lab experiments)

  • Data analysis

  • Research manpower

  • and more…

To request for our service, please click here (intranet-enabled) for more details and for downloading of the Service Request Form

Cold Storage Service for IRB Approved Projects

The CTS Core provides cold storage service for IRB approved projects which utilizes existing cold storage units such as -80°C, -20°C, 4°C fridges/freezers and liquid nitrogen tanks found at SGH Research Laboratory.

This service is initiated to:

  1. Provide cold storage for biological samples that are collected for the whole duration of the IRB approved project (tissues that are left behind after IRB expires can be transferred to SGH Satellite Bank under HBRA, given that appropriate patient consent has been sought for future research. If appropriate patient consent is not in place, the tissues have to be discarded)
  2. Help researchers mitigate the issue of limited or no cold storage space at SGH Research Laboratory

The cold storage service at SGH Research Laboratory comes with a nominal fee which is reflected in the table below. Interested researchers can submit the storage request form (only accessible to SingHealth staff) and the IRB approval letter to Hazel Foo.

Specialised Equipment Service

The CTS Core allows internal and external researchers access to the following specialised research equipment from our research platforms at an affordable fee:
