Profile

Clin Assistant Professor Tan Qiao Li completed her M.B.B.S degree from the National University of Singapore, Yong Loo Lin, School of Medicine in 2010 and was the first batch to graduate from the Internal Medicine Junior Residency program in 2013. She subsequently completed Senior Residency training in Respiratory Medicine in 2016 and Intensive Care Medicine training in 2017 and is currently a Senior Consultant in Singapore General Hospital, Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (RCCM). She received the MOH Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Scholarship in 2020 and completed a 1-year fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the University Health Network and Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto.

Dr Tan has special interest in critical care and pleural diseases. For critical care, she is part of the Extracorporeal Life Support team and is actively involved in implementation of the SGH Rapid Response System, as the lead of the SGH Medical Intensive Care Unit Acute Response Team (SMART) and committee member of the Outram Campus Early Warning System.  She is also part of the Pleural Service team with special expertise in medical thoracoscopy and indwelling pleural catheters.

Besides her clinical work, she is actively involved in the medical education. These include medical students of Duke-NUS, Yong Loo Lin and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, SingHealth Internal Medicine junior residents as well as student nurses. In addition, as of September 2021, she has taken on the role of Program Director of the Singhealth Respiratory Medicine Senior Residency program.
