Profile

Associate Professor Phua Ghee Chee serves as Deputy CEO of Singapore General Hospital, where he spearheads initiatives to enhance staff well-being and patient experience. As SingHealth's Group Director of Staff Wellness, he leads the development and implementation of staff wellness strategies across the healthcare cluster.

As a firm believer that healthcare professionals can only deliver their best care when they themselves are well-supported, A/Prof Phua champions a holistic approach to staff wellness that encompasses physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

A Respiratory and Intensive Care physician, A/Prof Phua maintains an active clinical practice alongside his leadership roles. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he led both the SGH ICU Committee and SingHealth ICU Operations Group, coordinating the critical care response while serving on Singapore's National ICU Committee.

As a Clinician-Educator, A/Prof Phua contributes to medical education at Duke-NUS Medical School and NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. His commitment to medical training extends to his roles in the Respiratory Residency Advisory Committee and Intensive Care Medicine Specialty Training Committee, building upon his previous experience as SingHealth Internal Medicine Residency Program Director.
