Managing Patients with End-Stage Heart Disease - From the Palliative Perspective

Our population is aging rapidly with a growing healthcare burden from chronic diseases such as end-stage heart disease. Palliative care improves the quality of life of patients, and their caregivers facing serious, chronic illness such as end-stage heart disease.

This lecture will discuss what palliative care is and how we can provide palliative care support for patients with end-stage heart disease and their caregivers, in our various roles in the healthcare team.  


After the lecture, the participants will be able to gain an understanding on:

  • What is palliative care
  • How palliative care improves quality of life
  • Their role as members of the healthcare team 
  • Landscape of palliative care services
