The session begins with a case scenario and delves into managing complications such as Amyloid-Related Imaging Abnormalities (ARIA), which can present as asymptomatic microhemorrhages or vasogenic edema, highlighting the importance of early detection and dose adjustments. Evidence from clinical trials demonstrating reduced amyloid plaque burden and slower cognitive decline with agents like lecanemab is reviewed.
The lecture concludes with the clinical impact of these treatments, emphasizing the need for patient selection, and long-term safety monitoring to optimize outcomes.
