WISH BONE: Women and Men In Support of Bone Health!

The Osteoporosis and Bone Metabolism Unit under the Department of Endocrinology at SGH is happy and proud to announce the setting up of a Support Group for Osteoporosis.

Knowledge is power! Sharing ones joys, woes and thoughts while dealing with a chronic disease such as Osteoporosis helps to develop coping skills. When people are diagnosed with Osteoporosis, unexpected changes may happen in their lives. Understanding the disease should become a priority.

The aim of WISH BONE is to provide a platform for patients and caregivers to gain knowledge about Osteoporosis, acquire the skills necessary to cope and deal with the disease and share information, feelings and goals with others in a similar situation.

WISH BONE is entirely volunteer based. The support group is facilitated by doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and dietitians and most importantly by patients and caregivers.

WISH BONE meetings are held every two months on the third Monday of the scheduled month. Meetings are free-of-charge and will be held over informal tea or lunch sessions.

For further information on how to join the support group or recommend your friend, family member or patient, please call 6326 5837, or refer to this poster for meeting schedules.
