The Respiratory Therapy (RT) Unit housed under the Department of Respiratory & Critical Care Medicine at Singapore General Hospital plays an extremely essential role on Outram Campus. The small team comprising some 11 Respiratory Therapists provides world class clinical care for patients who need respiratory care or support.
The team manages critically ill patients admitted to the intensive care unit or intermediate care area, and general ward patients who need less acute respiratory care and support. It is also involved in outpatient services e.g. Sleep Disorders Unit, Chronic Noninvasive Ventilation (NIV) Clinic.
