COVID-19 Negative Result Follow-Up Advice

 

The result for the COVID-19 test you took during your visit to the Singapore General Hospital is NEGATIVE.

While you are on Medical Leave:

  1. Do not go to work or school. Rest at home and avoid going out unnecessarily.
  2. Minimise contact with your family members, especially seniors at home.
  3. Maintain good personal hygiene, including cleaning your hands with soap and water or alcohol handrub, avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth, and covering your mouth when coughing or sneezing etc.
  4. Continue to take the medications prescribed for you (if any)
  5. Drink sufficient fluids.
  6. Continue to monitor your temperature and symptoms at home.
  7. If your symptoms worsen or you develop the following symptoms, please seek medical attention and return to SGH Emergency Department urgently.
    • Difficulty in breathing
    • Worsening cough
    • Persistent high fever of more than 37.5 degrees Celsius.
    • Loss of sense of smell or taste

If you need to go for any outpatient medical appointments, please inform the medical staff that you were recently screened for COVID-19 which was negative as well as the duration of the period indicated in your medical certificate.

If any of your family members develop flu-like symptoms, cough or fever of more than 37.5 degrees Celsius, advise them to seek medical attention at a nearby clinic. Please inform the doctor there of their contact with you and any travel history.

If you are still unwell after the duration indicated in your medical certificate, please put on a surgical mask and seek medical attention.
