"Every day, I use technology to peer inside people’s bodies and find out what’s bothering them. In the past, sometimes surgery was the only way to find out what was troubling a patient. With current technology, we can now get a glimpse inside the patient’s body to find out what’s wrong, without any pain to the patient. Radiology plays an important role in figuring out what is wrong with the patients, before patients get the important treatment that they need. We work equally with both patients and doctors alike to make sure this happens.
I grew up and did my Radiology training in the USA. One of the most striking things about working in the SGH Radiology department, and SingHealth as a whole, is the leadership’s continual and dogged passion to draw from different sources to improve the workflow and processes.
I’m happy to help the trainees grow in their skill and competence. It’s quite fascinating to know that the knowledge and skills we pass to them will ultimately be transferred even further down the line, when the trainees themselves become educators. Our future impact as educators can have an exponential effect."
