Continuing Medical Education (CME)

The department of Anaesthesiology maintains a vigorous education schedule, with the aim of providing ample opportunities for residents and faculty alike to interact and enhance learning.

The department educational program, often with local medical experts and visiting professors gives the residents the opportunity to discuss a variety of academic and professional issues.

The incident reports as well as morbidity and mortality meetings are forums for review of cases that are illustrative of anaesthesia pitfalls and related risk management and quality assurance issues.

There are subspecialty interactive teaching in neuroanaesthesia, cardiothoracic anaesthesia, obstetric anaesthesia, paediatric anaesthesia, intensive care medicine and pain medicine in addition to comprehensive general anaesthesia teaching and critical analyses of research publications. These teaching programs complement the national training program in anaesthesiology. The intensive care grand ward rounds feature presentations and multidisciplinary interactive learning forums that cover a wide range of relevant topics.
