About Anaesthesiology Residency Program

The primary educational goal of our well-rounded and comprehensive Anaesthesiology Residency Program is to provide you the opportunity to develop to the maximum of your ability. Residents are exposed to a diverse range of clinical experience through structured subspecialty rotations that allow flexibility to meet individual goals and objectives.

Throughout your training, you will learn from and alongside seniors and mentors as you function as an invaluable member of the healthcare team. With timely supervision, nurturing mentors and an emphasis on lifelong learning, you will be equipped with the skills and values expected of a well-balanced, knowledgeable and compassionate consultant.

Our Strengths

Dynamic Educational Program

Our program maintains a vigorous education schedule, with the aim of providing ample opportunities for residents and faculty to interact and enhance learning, often with local experts and visiting professors. The wide span of educational activities – including morbidity and mortality meetings, incident reporting, intensive care grand ward rounds, subspecialty interactive teaching programs, critical appraisal of research publications and multidisciplinary learning forums – will imbibe you with the best in academic medicine. Our Residency Program will aid you in preparing for the M Med (Anaesthesiology) and FANZCA examinations through the conduct of intensive didactic curriculum, mock viva voce and written examinations.

Research Opportunities

There is a strong research culture within SingHealth. This further strengthened with collaboration with Duke-NUS and the Academia Medicine Research Institute. This collaboration aims to further develop an academic milieu for new discoveries, which ultimately lead to improved patient care. Residents can participate in research with experienced mentors and can expect guidance in designing and conducting research protocols of their own in a supportive environment. Thus far, many residents have had the opportunity to present their research at various conferences.
