A/Prof Ng Chin Teck is Head & Senior Consultant in the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, Singapore General Hospital (SGH). He obtained his basic medical degree with honours from Trinity College Dublin in 2000. After obtaining his MRCP(UK) in 2003, Dr Ng entered Rheumatology and General Medicine specialist training under the Royal College of Physicians Ireland, during which he was trained in University Hospital Limerick (University of Limerick), St. Vincent's University Hospital (University College Dublin), Beaumont Hospital (Royal College of Surgeons Ireland) and Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore.
Having a subspecialty clinical and research interest in rheumatoid arthritis, Dr Ng worked as a clinical research fellow in Rheumatology Translational Research Group of Dublin Academic Medical Centre between 2006 and 2009. His research work on the role of hypoxia in inflammatory arthritis was presented in European and US conferences and was published in top peer-reviewed journals of his field, including Annals of Rheumatic Diseases and Arthritis & Rheumatology.
Dr Ng joined SGH in 2015 and is a recipient of the NMRC Transitional Award for his research efforts. Besides research, Dr Ng also started the department’s Early Arthritis Clinic service. He also took on an active role in teaching the department and at Duke-NUS Medical School.
