Humour and laughter are surely present and appreciated across many cultures and races. Often humour and laughter seem to disappear or be forgotten when one faces serious illness and threats to one's wellbeing. Palliative care endeavours to improve quality of life. Humour can enhance quality of life if used appropriately. The talk aims to share conversational encounters in Palliative Care reflecting the value of humour. To consider how and when humour may enhance experiences and care for patients, their families and healthcare workers within Hospice and Palliative Care.
