Head and Neck Surgery

The head and neck surgery is a subspecialty of the Department of General Surgery. It focuses on the early diagnosis and treatment of head and neck cancers, thyroid nodule, thyroid malignancies and associated disease, and salivary gland diseases. It also has a multidisciplinary participation with departments of dental surgery, otolaryngology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery and radiotherapy.

The Head and Neck Nurse Clinician conducts training and inservices to nurses in the development of their knowledge and skills in the management of patients with head and neck surgery. She also provides health education, counselling, discharge planning and research to improve the care of patients after head and neck surgery.
