The Department of Haematology provides both clinical and specialised services for the diagnosis and treatment of all blood and blood related disorders to most government and restructured hospitals in Singapore. Clinical services include mainly general haematology, coagulation, haemato-oncology and stem cell transplant.
The Haematology Ward is located at Block 7 Level 2. It has specialised rooms for selectron therapy, radio-iodine therapy and bone marrow transplant. Collectively they provide services like bone marrow transplant, high dependency care, high dose chemotherapy.
It is also a training ground for nurses in diploma in nursing course and the advanced diploma in oncology course.
The ward is managed by a senior nurse manager, nurse clinicians and a team of oncology-trained nurses and together they provide optimum quality care and health education to the patients and relatives.
