Associate Professor Ong is Consultant physician, Senior Medical Scientist and Director of Research, Department of Emergency Medicine, Singapore General Hospital. He is also Adjunct Associate Professor, Duke-National University of Singapore Graduate Medical School and Consultant, Ministry of Health, Hospital Services Division. His academic credentials include a medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 1993. Dr Ong obtained his Fellowship in emergency medicine with the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, Scotland, as well as the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.

 

He completed his fellowships in emergency medical services and prehospital care in Ottawa, Canada and Richmond, Virginia, USA. Dr Ong obtained his Master of Public Health at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005. He has an active interest in pre-hospital care, emergency cardiac care and resuscitation research.
