Dear Colleague,
Hello from us in the Department of Pathology . Preparations for our  Breast Pathology Course is in full swing and we look forward to hosting you  in SGH.

The slide workshop for this course is currently fully subscribed. However we are working hard to get extra microscopes and will open up more places if possible.  Waitlist places are available and we will inform succesful registrants by 10th October 2011

Breast Pathology - 4th November to 5th November

This will be the second year  for this programme. Last year, the workshop with glass  slides was very popular and we were inundated with requests to hold a second session. This year, we thought we would hold a course with a different emphasis. The course will focus on the challenges of preoperative diagnosis in breast pathology with particular emphasis on core biopsy and cytology.

The Breast pathology course will set sail with a very distinguished crew. Dr Ian Ellis from Nottingham will anchor the histopathology while Dr Fernando Schmitt from Porto University, Portugal will  navigate cytopathology.  From SE Asia, we have Dr PH Tan and Dr G Tse who will share an Asian perspective.

As in last year's course, Day 1 will incorporate a microscopy workshop with actual cases which can be viewed either by either conventional light microscopy or virtual microscopy and   Day 2 will be in a lecture format. We hope that by October, course participants who have successfully registered for the slide workshop will be able to view and comment on some of the  core biopsy cases  online.

We do hope you will be able to make the time to join us, and we look forward to a fun filled course.
