Colorectal cancer screening has taken on an added impetus with the increasing incidence of colorectal cancer in Singapore. The Ministry of Health, Singapore, has since made screening colonoscopy Medisave-claimable, allowing more residents in Singapore access to this modality of screening for polyps and colorectal cancer.
Our department performs both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy as a day procedure. This includes both gastroscopy and colonoscopy. Patients do not need to be hospitalized for the procedures and can return home on the same day of the endoscopy. All endoscopic procedures are performed at our Endoscopy Centre located at Block 6 Level 2.
